Mallory Choudoir (she/her) is an Assistant Professor & Extension Specialist and a member of the Microbiomes and Complex Communities cluster and the LGBTQ Faculty Staff Network. She is an avid coffee drinker, fermented food enthusiast, and sci-fi/fantasy & horror fan.

Madaris serrano Perez, lab Technician

Madaris completed her bachelors in Wildlife Management at the University of Puerto Rico. She’s worked with monarchs in Virginia, plants and microbes in Michigan, and even manatees in Florida! She loves research and learning about anthropogenic effects on biodiversity. Check out her story in this video “Meet a Soil Scientist.

Adam Breister, Microbiology phd student

Adam Breister is a Microbiology PhD student and a Genetics & Genomics Scholar. Adam received his B.S. in Microbiology from the University of Wisconsin Madison. He is interested in using computational methods along with environmental nutrient data to understand microbial ecology globally. He is particularly interested in understanding microbial functionality and the impacts of microbiome function on the environment, with a current focus on farming systems. ORICiD 0000-0003-0680-1557

isaBElla Borrero, Microbiology phd student

Isabella received her bachelors in Plant Pathology from The Ohio State University and her Masters in Agricultural Sciences at The University of New Hampshire. She’s interested in using interdisciplinary approaches to researching plant microbiome responses to abiotic stress factors across interaction scales. She loves running and painting, and can usually be found at her local bookstore!

 

Mattew Clayton, Undergraduate Researcher

Matthew (Class of 2026) is majoring in Microbiology. He is interested in environmental microbiology, has worked with songbirds and ABR bacteria, and loves microscopy. He loves to play music and enjoys scuba diving!

Ashley (Class of 2027) is majoring in Biological Sciences with minors in Genetics, Global One Health & Psychology .
